Francine Rivers 'And the shofar blew'

What is it about?

'And the shofar blew is about Paul Hudson, Paul Hudson is a PK (Pastors Kid) and him and his wife Eunice and his son Timothy are called to a struggling church, Centreville christian church. It doesn't take long for Paul to turn things round there, the church grows rapidly and everything seems to be going really well. He wants his wife to be happy for him but she knows that something isn't right and she has known all the time.
As read on back of book: 'Eunice closes her bedroom door quietly and knelt beside her bed. Im drowning, God. I've never felt so alone. Who can I turn to but you, Lord? Where else does a pastors wife go for help when her marraige is failing and her life is out of control? Who can I trust with my anguish, Lord who but you?
Grasping her pillow, she pressed it tightly to her mouth so that her sobs would not be heard'

What did I think of it?

I ordered this book off amazon, I'd never heard of it before and I'm so glad I did this book has spoken to me so much! I would recommend it to anyone. It covers so many real life issues! Issues in the church, Issues in our lives it is hard hitting and real and thats why i like it! I could not put it down you are simply not satisfied until you have read the last page! After I had read this book I walked down the road smiling! I felt grateful for my pastors, grateful for each and every person in the body of christ, grateful for one another. I am so glad I read this book I don't think I will look at church the same way again. The way I first described it is like 'a warning in a book' It definately had something to show me.

God's Love letter to you!

God's Love Letters to you By Larry Crabb!

Hey folks! How you doing so this week I was sent my first book to review and this was it!

God's Love Letters to you is a 40 Day devotional experience. Each day has a letter written as if it is from God to you! The first 20 being taken from scriptures in the old testament and the second 20 devotions taken from the New testament! Each letter starts off with a scripture and then a letter from God. Then after you have read the letter there is a little part called 'Take a moment to reflect' where there are a few questions for the reader about what they have just read, how it speaks to them and how it could apply to their own life circumstances etc..  each days questions are different and thought provoking. Finally at the end is a part called 'Take a moment to pray' where there is a prayer for the reader to read and pray. This happens for each of the 40 days.

God's Love Letters to you is a great devotional and I would highly recommend it! Its easy to read, simple and thought provoking. This book covers some good issues and made me see that its about deepening my relationship with him that matters. It has some profound statements in it that really stand out and speak to your heart.

Its a great accompany to your daily bible reading and has made me want to read Larry Crabbs other book 66 Love letters!

Todd Burpo heaven is for Real- A little boys story of his trip to heaven and back.

A little boys astounding story of his trip to heaven and back!

'Do you remember  the hospital, Colton? Sonja said 'yes mommy, I
remember' he said 'that's where the angels sang to me'

This is an amazing story! I went to church last night and my lovely friend
Harriet came in with this book for me to read! Saying she read it in an afternoon its now the next day and I was exactly the same seriously could not put this book down, do you want to know what heaven is like?...then read this book!!!!!!

'Heaven is for real' is the story of Colton Burpo, a child not even four years old Colton became very unwell he had to have a emergency appenectomy it was a hard time for his parents Todd, Sonja and his sister Cassie, and they were overjoyed by his miraculous recovery!

What followed however is truly wonderful as Colton starts to tell his mum and dad about his trip to heaven, he tells them in accurate detail what they were doing in the hospital while he was being operated on and so much more unfolds including the way he met and spoke with Jesus, the angels, the holy spirit, the people he met there and how much God loves us and how he hears and answers our prayers and how he shoots down power from heaven to us! He astonishes his parents with details of heaven ,events past that happened even before he was born. His parents are astonished at his accuracy how his details of heaven matches the bible exactly and he hadn't even learnt to read yet!

This book is AWESOME! I seriously cannot recommend this book enough! What a brilliant book. This book had me in tears several times, it is written so beautifully, seeing heaven through the eyes of a child. It gives us a glimpse of what we will see for eternity what happens to people when they die and how God loves us and how he sees us and hears us.

It is in my opinion a book of hope and promise! It encouraged me so much and shows just how much God loves us and the little children.

This book is truly fascinating! Seeing heaven through the eyes of a child! Go and buy it it will open your eyes and give you a taste of heaven.
