The Wedding Dress by Rachel Hauck

The latest book I have been sent to review is a book by Rachel Hauck called the wedding dress! I love fiction books especially christian ones and weddings so this seemed like the perfect book for me to review :)

Its about a girl named Charlotte who is due to get married to Tim yet can't decide if its the right thing to do and she can't find her perfect dress! Then she buys a trunk that is welded shut inside is a wedding dress and some other clues, Charlotte starts to investigate the history of this dress and the 4 women who wore it and where it came from with that she discovers a whole lot more!

Some fiction books can be difficult to read or you lose interest but this book is written perfectly! It flows so well! I was completely hooked from the beginning Rachel writes characters that you just love and strong women that we can be inspired by! I would wake up desperate to carry on reading my book! I loved reviewing this book!!! God is so good! Would definitely recommend if it spoke anything to me its that we are all so loved by our father and his attention to detail in our lives is beautiful! Just beautiful!

WHEN HEAVEN INVADES EARTH!

This is the book I've been reading lately When heaven invades earth by Bill Johnson, I have felt so challenged and inspired!

The book really captures that idea that if it exists in heaven we should have it here on earth like health, healing, peace, joy etc and if it doesn't exist in heaven we should not accept it here on earth or in our lives for that matter like fear, sickness, doubt, anxiety etc..That we should be passionate about living the life thats heavenly bringing heaven to earth in our communities and accepting nothing less!

The book is full of AMAZING quotes that just felt like they literally jumped right of the page at me I was encouraged, inspired and like wow I often stopped my husband from whatever he was doing and was like ' can I just read this one to you?'!!!! :) so Ive compiled a selection of quotes that I found inspiring from this book if you get the chance read this book its brilliant can't recommend it enough!

On worship -
"worship is our number one priority in ministry everything else we do is to be affected by our devotion to this call. He inhabits our praises" Bill Johnson

On the Lords Prayer -
Your Kingdom Come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven
"This is the Primary focus for all prayer, if it exists in heaven, it is to be loosed on earth!" Bill Johnson

On loving people -
"Loving people is Christ's agenda, and surrender of my own agenda makes me available for his!" Bill Johnson

On the condition of our hearts -
"The same sun that melts the ice hardens the clay, similarly a work of God can bring about two completely different responses depending on the condition of the hearts of people!" Bill Johnson

On knowing God -
"Nothing thrills the heart more than knowing God. He is limitless in power. He is for us and not against us, and is big enough to make up for our smallness" Bill Johnson

On giving out the presence of God -
"He is in me for my sake, He is upon me for yours!" Bill Johnson

"Give away what you have received (as the bible says) Freely you have received, freely give! When you go into a house...let your peace come upon it " Bill Johnson

"He looks for those willing to be smeared with him, allowing his presence to affect others for good!" Bill Johnson

On angels -
" I believe angels have been bored because we live the kind of lifestyle that doesn't require much of their help. Their assignment is to assist us in supernatural endeavours. If we are not people of Risk then there is little room for the supernatural. Risks must be taken to peruse solutions to impossible situations. When the church regains its appetite for the impossible, the angels will increase their activities among men" Bill Johnson

On Signs and Wonders -
"Tongues of fire were seen on the heads of the apostles on the day of pentecost. In more modern times fire has been seen blazing from the top of church buildings when the people of  God are gathered together in his name. At the Azuza street revival the fire department was called to extinguish a blaze only to discover that the people inside were worshipping Jesus. Water couldn't put it out as it wasn't a natural fire!" Bill Johnson

On Warring to Invade -
"The Real christian is a royal fighter. He is the one who loves to enter into the contest with his whole soul and take the situations captive for Jesus Christ" Bill Johnson

On Fear -
"When we refuse fear, the enemy becomes terrified. A confident heart is a sure sign of his ultimate destruction and our present victory - Do not fear - ever!" Bill Johnson

On the church
"I was not left on planet earth to be hiding waiting for Jesus's return. I am here as a military representative of heaven. The church is on the attack. Thats why the gates of hell, the place of demonic government and strength WILL NOT PREVAIL against the church" Bill Johnson

On Church order -
"Messes are necessary for increase" Bill Johnson
"There is a big difference between graveyards and nurseries, one has perfect order the other has life!" Bill Johnson

These are just a few of the inspiring quotes in this book its full of amazing testimonies of healing I haven't put too many so you will be as excited as I was when you read it! This book is life changing stuff get a copy as soon as you can!

Thanks for reading! Lots of love x

The First Judgement by Wendy Alec

This book is like no other book I have read before! The first judgement is the second book in the series! The first book I read is called 'The Fall of Lucifer' all about his fall from heaven, this book is a continuation of that and tells the story of how God sends his only son Jesus to pay the price for the human race to free them from the evil powers of lucifer. This book follows God placing Jesus here, his appearing to the Virgin Mary, his growing up, his death and ressurection. It is such an intense read! Reading about Jesus and his life, the way he suffered and what would have been happening in heaven amazed me! I was totally fixed on this book right to the end, theres lots going on in it so you have to take your time but it gave me another insight into our Saviour and the price he paid, it is heartbreaking and moving and shocking all at the same time and yet shows God's unending love for us and also how real it all was and is, it makes me feel incredibly blessed and makes me want others to experience that same freedom! I felt like I saw anothers perception of Jesus and his life, his death and his ressurection and what was going on in the unseen world of heaven and hell and I was suprised at how much it moved me. Definately a read I would recommend, it is well written and deeply moving. Thankyou to my friend Chris Atkinson for lending it to me.

FAITH CAMP BOOKS! BENGT WEDEMALM, 'IN HIS MAJESTY'S SERVICE' AND LISA BEVERE 'LIONESS ARISING'

FAITH CAMP BOOKS!

I had such a great time at Faith camp! It was truly awesome one of the great things was the two books I came home with! Its actually a good story! I decided in the morning I was going to buy Bengt Wedemalm's book 'in his majestys service' I couldn't wait to have a copy of that book! Because his sessions at Faith Camp were awesome! , anyway i got on with my day and when i got back my lovely friend Jenna Hart had bought it me and left it as a present in my tent! I was so touched! So I thanked God and then thought okay I will buy Lisa beveres book 'Lioness arising' and again carried on with my day and when I got back from my seminar Phil Gorman had bought me that book! It was 2 lovely surprises in one day! so here is my thoughts on them both... thankyou God, Jenna, Phil and Paith Camp!

This is spectacular! I loved this book and would encourage women to get a hold of it! The back cover reads 'Women, its time to AWAKEN.... God did not save you to tame you..AWAKEN....to a life of fierce passion.AWAKEN,to dangerous prayer, stunning power, and teamed purpose, AWAKEN, your response could very well change your world. Lisa bevere compares lionesses to us as women in his kingdom, that we are God's lionesses! What that means and how to embrace it! She observes actual lioness behaviour and shows us what we can learn from them and what that means for us as women in the kingdom of God. I learnt a lot from this book and feel rearing to go already! A saying in there I liked was written by Sam Levensen:

"For attractive lips, speak words of kindness,
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people,
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry,
For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone"

I have been to faith camp twice and each year attended Bengts seminars and he is a great teacher and example to us all about living a life of faith. I always find I learn something new each year and am inspired in my own faith!

This book comes highly recommended when you buy it all proceeds go back into his ministry and mission so is well worth buying! This book is about Bengts and his wife viviannes life, its about his calling, the words God spoke into his life and the adventures he went on with God. Preaching in places that were virtually untouched by the Gospel and healings that took place, miraculous signs and wonders and the salvation that happened people surrendering their lives to Jesus and becoming leaders themselves. This book is fantastic, it speaks of bravery and Faith, it also shows us a God who is so powerful on our behalf! His heart for our world and for places that may be unknown to us but to him are on his heart and that when people stand up in faith and 'GO' then God works wonders in those places. Bengt's book makes me want to be brave and to rely fully on God and believe him when he tells us to do something in our lives. This is an inspirational story I can't recommend it enough. Thankyou Bengt! Awesome!

The book - The fall of lucifer!

The Fall of lucifer!

Hey guys its me again Im catching up with my reviews this week. The book I have just finished reading is this, The Fall of lucifer by Wendy Alec. My friend Chris recommended this book to me and borrowed me his copy!

The Fall of Lucifer is a novel about just that, The fall of lucifer, Its the story of Lucifer and his angelic brothers Gabriel and Michael and the hosts of heaven, It is the story of who lucifer was before he fell, his relationship with God, his beauty, and then tells of his demise, his rebellion against God and his expulsion from heaven. It then follows the battles that follow between him and his angelic brothers following creation, the sin of Adam and Eve and his part in that, as well as the demise of earth forcing God to destroy it sparing one man and his family Noah, yet even then the people of Earth are rejecting God and the consequences the enivetable judgement that would follow sends sadness into heaven, unless somebody paid the price for human beings, a spotless sinless person of which there is none, So steps forward Christ, The father loves the human race so much he sends himself his only son to pay the price for them.

The fall of Lucifer is like nothing I have ever read before! It opens your eyes to the heavenly realms, it makes you see that there is a heavenly realm. It is a sad story indeed of Lucifers demise, it makes you see that we have an awesome loving God who is majestic and loves us so much! It makes you realise that there is no inbetween you are either on one side or another and makes you see the beauty of the right side. It shows you how sin can seep into someone making them a completely different person and the mercy and the grace of God.

I would definately recommend this book! It made me truly thankful that God fights for us!

Billy Graham in Quotes!

Billy Graham in Quotes!

Hey all its been a while! I've been away at faith camp Im glad to be back and to tell you about the latest book i'm reading 'Billy Graham in Quotes!' This book is Brilliant! Its a book of Quotes from the great evangelist Billy Graham! It is like a refence book and is set out in topics alphabetically! It will say billy graham on ..... forgiveness for example and then will have a few pages of his quotes on that topic! There are 107 topics altogether that he covers and it is so easy to read! Its really handy that its in alphabetical order, it would be great for people who are studing a particular topic, people who speak publicly or write or just for each of us everyday when we are struggling with a particular problem and want some wisdom on the subject. I found myself encouraged, built up, hopeful, spoken to, becoming thoughtful, re-ordering my priorities and a developing hunger for more of God through reading this book, it made me take a closer look at my life and what it should be. It is great to learn from someone who is older and wiser than me. I love that we can learn from one another in the church, that we don't have to struggle along there are people who have a wealth of experience and have had so many experiences and encounters with God who can help us and guide us and impart some wisdom they have learnt along the way. billy Graham definately has that, you can see through this book that he is a wise man but also a humble one who has achieved great things. This book is a great tribute to his great ministry and I feel better for reading this book.

Heres a tiny taster, the book is 433 pages long so this is only a tiny taster but is just a few quotes that stood out to me:

Billy Graham on........

End Times... "In the end there will be people who did the work of the Lord. They were busy in the church. They had done many wonderful works. But Jesus himself says 'I never knew you' Matt 7:23

Glorifying God..... " We glorify Christ when we live for God-trusting, loving and obeying him"

God.... "Most of us know about God, but that is quite different from knowing God" and "The wheels of (God's) mercy and judgement move quietly and silently, but they do move"

Greed....."Envy and greed starve on a diet of thanksgiving"

Hell....." A seminary professor I once knew told his students ' Never preach about hell without tears in your eyes"

Marraige.... " I have been asked the question, " who do you go to for counsel, for spiritual guidance?" My answer " My wife Ruth. She is the only one i completely confide in"

Success..... " A true servant of God is someone who helps another succeed"

Suffering.... " The bible teaches that we are to be patient in suffering. Tears become telescopes to heaven, bringing eternity a little closer"

These are just a tiny few of the quotes that inspired me there are hundreds more this book is truly a fantastic one, one that i will treasure in my book collection and keep and refer to for the rest of my life! Thanks for reading my blog! God bless you!

Francine Rivers 'And the shofar blew'

What is it about?

'And the shofar blew is about Paul Hudson, Paul Hudson is a PK (Pastors Kid) and him and his wife Eunice and his son Timothy are called to a struggling church, Centreville christian church. It doesn't take long for Paul to turn things round there, the church grows rapidly and everything seems to be going really well. He wants his wife to be happy for him but she knows that something isn't right and she has known all the time.
As read on back of book: 'Eunice closes her bedroom door quietly and knelt beside her bed. Im drowning, God. I've never felt so alone. Who can I turn to but you, Lord? Where else does a pastors wife go for help when her marraige is failing and her life is out of control? Who can I trust with my anguish, Lord who but you?
Grasping her pillow, she pressed it tightly to her mouth so that her sobs would not be heard'

What did I think of it?

I ordered this book off amazon, I'd never heard of it before and I'm so glad I did this book has spoken to me so much! I would recommend it to anyone. It covers so many real life issues! Issues in the church, Issues in our lives it is hard hitting and real and thats why i like it! I could not put it down you are simply not satisfied until you have read the last page! After I had read this book I walked down the road smiling! I felt grateful for my pastors, grateful for each and every person in the body of christ, grateful for one another. I am so glad I read this book I don't think I will look at church the same way again. The way I first described it is like 'a warning in a book' It definately had something to show me.
